EXPERIENCE FOUR DISTINCT AND VERY COLOURFUL CULTURES AS YOU EXPLORE STUNNING AND REMOTE ISLANDS RARELY VISITED BY TOURISTS.
The beauty of Fiji lies in its diversity - over 330 islands waiting to be explored. Cruises to the Yasawa Islands & Northern Fiji are designed to offer you an authentic & personal experience of Fiji.
Circumnavigate Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island and explore the islands, rivers and rainforests of the remote north. On the way, you’ll discover the four different cultures of Fiji; the Ellice Islanders, Barnabas, Indian and Fijian people.
You’ll snorkel on The Great Sea Reef, the world’s third longest barrier reef, board a local bus to Labasa with the second largest Indian population in the country. Visit the Hindu snake temple and touch the sacred growing rock, experience the busy Labasa market and the aromas of the Indian spices and product there. A bollywood show at the local hotel will round off a very different day.
You’ll meet the Polynesian people of Kioa Island, originally from the overcrowded Tuvalu, who will greet you with traditional song and dance and a flotilla of outrigger canoes. Next we visit Rabi, the new home of the Ocean island, Banabas, Micronesian people of Kiribati misplaced by the over phosphate mining of the island. And you’ll visit the fishing community of Kia, one of the poorest and northernmost Fijian (Melanesian) islands, where tourism helps to supplement their economy and the children greet you with the biggest of smiles. Our fourth cultural experience is that of the second largest ethnic population in Fiji, the Indians of Labasa. We visit their snake temple and the busy spice markets of this thriving centre of economics in Fiji’s remote north.
Along with these wonderful cultural experiences, you’ll visit remote beaches and reefs, experience a lovo feast, a remote school visit, a Choral Church service and much more on this amazing journey to the remote north.
