Note: Richard Ruskin is a specialist guide, who has been guiding in East Africa for nearly 20 years. Richard will open your eyes to the animals, plants, birds and scenery that makes this area the most exciting in Africa. A keen photographer (many of his photos are in his brochures), he is on hand to help potential photographers improve their photos whilst on safari. Richard also has great friends in various villages in both Kenya and Tanzania, giving you a more intimate opportunity to meet these amazing Africans. Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Two-nights at FAIRMONT THENORFOLK HOTEL where you will be met by Richard Ruskin.

Day 2: Nairobi
After breakfast you will be taken on a tour of the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre, with lunch at Tamambo Restaurant. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru
This morning you will be met at reception and begin your safari with a drive to Lake Nakuru, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be taken on an afternoon game drive in the Park, known for its rhino population, Defassa waterbuck, lion and aquatic birds. Two nights at SAROVA LION HILL LODGE. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Lake Nakuru
Today after breakfast, you will be taken to Lake Elmenteita to see the huge population of flamingos and other birds in the lake, before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will be taken on another game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Samburu
After breakfast, you will continue your safari driving north to Samburu National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a game drive in the park. Two nights at SAMBURU INTREPIDS. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Samburu National Reserve
Today, you will be taken on morning and afternoon game drives, experiencing the unique landscape and wildlife of the semi-desert region. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Samburu - Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, you will be transferred by light aircraft to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport where you will check in for your scheduled flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to the ARUSHA HOTEL for your overnight stay. (B, L)

Day 8: Kilimanjaro – Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will be driven to Lake Manyara for a game drive, followed by lunch at Lake Manyara Serena. In the afternoon you will continue your drive to Ngorongoro. For the next two nights you will stay at NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater
This morning you will descend into the crater for a full day of game viewing and a picnic lunch. In the late afternoon you will visit a Masai Village. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park
Today is a long but exciting day with most of the time driving through the Serengeti to MBALAGETI SERENGETI which is located in the western corridor. You will have a picnic lunch and an afternoon game drive en route to the lodge. Many clients say this is one of the highlights of the safari. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will depart on a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. This park is known as the world’s last great wildlife refuge, home to 35 species of plains game and 500 birds. Overnight at MBALAGETI SERENGETI. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Serengeti National Park – Masai Mara
This morning you will be transferred to the Grumeti Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Tarime. On arrival you will be taken by road to Migori connecting with your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by road to Kichwa Tembo in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. For the next three nights, you will stay at KICHWA TEMBO TENTED CAMP. (B, L, D)

Days 13 – 14: Masai Mara
Two days spent in the Masai Mara game viewing with the option of adding a balloon safari (additional cost). The Masai Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife with 320 square kilometres of open savannah, woodlands and tree-lined rivers creating an eco-system which supports huge numbers of bird and mammal species. It is here that the Wildebeest Migration should be in full swing, providing opportunities to see them amassing as well as crossing the river. (B, L, D)

Day 15: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Check out after breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for you scheduled flight to Nairobi Wilson Airport. On arrival you will be transferred back to FAIRMONT THE NORFOLK HOTEL for your overnight stay. In the evening there will be a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 16: Depart Nairobi
After breakfast you will be transferred to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta airport for your onward flight. (B)
